RSSSCEA just confirmed that the 80Gb PS3 is to become the focus of its hardware line-up, and will offer the machine as its primary pack later this year for $399.

Certainly seems that way. Exactly the same as the 40gb pack, but with twice as much drive. I wonder why, then, he commented on ‘making the transition as easy as possible for PS2 owners’. Weird. I guess it’ll at least have the DS3 packed in now.
