Resistance 2 demo knocks out E3 crowd, but date goes begging

SCEA just showed resistance 2 in its E3 press conference, and it’s looking hot.

The demo showed the Leviathan in a cityscape, with Nathan firing rockets from a rooftop at its head. Stunning stuff.

Nathan worked around inside a building with a machine gun then through girder bridges as the monster attacked.

Insomniac boss Ted Price talked about the game’s eight-way co-op and 60-player online play.

A new trailer was also shown, with alien ships floating to dramatic radio messages, but no date for the game was given.

The conference is ongoing.

I loved the huge boss throwing you around like a rag doll, but boy those environments are devoid of detail. What up with dat?

I can see what you mean Mortiferus – though the footage at the end of the presentation looks a fair bit better. Seems that big boss battle needs a bit of polish. The other point to make is the one made by Ted Price in the clip. Scale, Scale, Scale. I’m liking that. All the best levels of Halo 3 I loved because of the scale.

Better vid of the better bits from the above. Much better detail in the environments and again with the scale. Reminds me of EDF and that is very much a good thing.
