Nintendo E3 2008 press conference starts at 5.00pm UK time
The sound? The fanboy siren. The beat of Reggie’s lungs as he hyperventilates backstage. The click-clacking of Iwata picking his teeth in the dressing room. This is it, Wii-lovers. At 5.00pm UK time the curtain will lift on Nintendo’s E3 press conference in Los Angeles, and the scene is set for a barnstorming performance. We know who’s going to be there, and if the rumours are right we could be about to see new hardware and the reinvention of some classic “gamer” Nintendo franchises for Wii. Punch Out!! and Animal Crossing have been heavily tipped for an appearance, as has a new DS model. We’ll know soon enough.

Punch out! for Wii? SOLD!
When Nintendo first launched the VC I thought they said they would be giving away the games ‘free’ occasionally.
I.e. buy the new Punch Out and get a code for Punch Out NES, buy Mario and get an old mario game for free etc….
I know they are cheap anyway, I just swore I remembered Ninty announcing this at one stage….

There may well be charts, and figures. You never know, one of those could be demoing a new balance board thing, too. This is going to be surprising. Nintendo are the regular unknown quantity.

Wii Music.
New Kid Icarus for DS/Wii.
More details on Animal Crossing Wii.
Possible New IP.
Loads of stats showing how awesome they are compared to the others even though the others also show stats saying their the best…
And my wildcard shall be a zany crossover RPG featuring Nintendo’s most popular characters.

I’m fully expecting some horrible Zelda reinvention monstrosity that’s in no way, shape or form a Zelda game. And thoroughly looking forward to some wailing and gnashing of teeth.

hopefully something for the “hardcore” crowd would be nice.
in fact they should do a section for casual where crap like animal crossing gets announced and then after that comes the decent stuff like Yoshi’s Island 3. (yes, i know YI3 isnt announced).
i know i sound a bit bitter but christ there’s so much shit on the wii. conversely, there’s loads of great games on the wii if i were a casual gamer.
which im not.
