The Conduit confirmed for E3

According to this IGN interview, High Voltage Software will definitely show off The Conduit at E3.

The Wii shooter caused a stir at its announcement for focussing on “next-gen” graphics, something of a rarity in Wii games.

There’s plenty through the link. Watch a new movie after the break.

This looks shit, and High Voltage software are shovelware queens on XBLA, so they can fuck right off.

Oh I think that’s a bit harsh. It does look good for a Wii game, and it looked fairly fast and exciting going from that.

Time will tell :)

Tolerable, if a bit old-skool in visuals and gameplay style from the looks of things. Not a patch on 360/PS3 graphically either but there again those consoles have had their fair share of howlers too. Turning Point anyone?
I don’t think it looks special but on the Wii all it needs to do is be solid and competent and it will stand tall in the FPS genre there.

Meh and double meh. The whole notion of trying to get the Wii to compete with the sort of games that the other machines are known for is completely missing the point. In much the same way as motion controls on the more expensive machines. I think it’ll only serve to highlight the disparity between the machines – and not in a good way for the Wii.

Also this “It looks good for a Wii game” sentiment. Sod that. It looks pretty lacklustre for a game in 2008. Period. I don’t see why ‘because it’s on Wii’ should be come some sort of reason to suggest something is better than it actually is. It’s just an excuse. I really don’t see the sense in making excuses for one platform whilst folk will quite happily draw daggers for another.
