Over 40,000 lines of dialogue in Fallout 3

fallout317.jpg

Speaking in a fan interview on its site, Bethesda’s claimed there are 40,000 lines of dialogue in Fallout 3, about the same amount as Fable II. Clearly having 40,000 line of text in your RPG is de rigueur in develop-land.

Thanks, CVG.

Hopefully a few of them are worth listening to.

Wasn’t a similar claim made about Haze? And that didn’t turn out too well, apparently.

Cue Shatner throwing an eppy in 3… 2… 1…

Same amount as a Dizzy Rascal song.

Less head-bobbing, though.

As long as they don’t have different voices from the same person in a conversation like Oblivion it’ll be an improvement.

Although after some of the excellent voice work in the previous Fallouts (Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Dorn being two highlights) I doubt I’ll be amazed.

At least Ron Perlman is onboard.

I loved Oblivion and think it is clearly one of the greatest games ever made. It is amazing! That being said, when a bum asks me for money in a gravely voice, and when I give him a coin he says ‘Thank you, kind sir!’ and sounds like Sol Rosenberg, I can’t help but laugh my ass off. I mean, how could they not have noticed that?

Classic!

I’ve never played Oblivion. And that’s bad. Another game on the “it’s bad I’ve never played these games” list. I have to play it now, just to hear the funny voices.

Meh, I could right a 40,000 line comment.

It’s not that hard.

Yeah but it would be … “Remember your promise to Merino!” 40,000 times :-)

(sorry)
