No Mission mode in XBLA Soul Calibur
Imagine we’re doing a smiley face that looks like this “:-|”. According this Shacknews report, there’s no Mission mode in the XBLA version of Soul Calibur. Coupled with the fact there’s no online play in it either that makes it, essentially, bollocks. The Mission mode was the bulk of the game’s single-play content, allowing players to fight under various conditions to unlock cards, costumes, and so on. All this content is now immediately available.
Do not want.

Proper no sale for me. The Mission mode was the best bit.

That properly explains why they got the game down to under 200MB. They took out a good chuck of it.

Arcade mode’s there though, as are the finishing movies.
Just none of that map-based bollocks. I’m not exactly unhappy it’s been taken out

I loved the map
Epic, so it was.

oh dear. I feel sorry for anyone that was looking forward to, but will miss out on Mission mode. It was really top fun, and a very satisfyingly realised concept.

The map was a nice addition but hardly the be all and end all.
TBH I think that’s what was wrong with VF5 for me too. Too much dickarsing about on a map screen, not enough beating and smacking and the kicking and oy vey.
