SCEE stonewalls Siren Euro Blu-ray release talk

siren7.jpg

SCEE’s blanked a rumour from the latest issue of Edge that says Sony Japan horror Siren: Blood Curse will be released on Blu-ray in Europe.

The mag mooted plans to released the game on a disc halfway through a planned 12-part PSN release.

“We haven’t announced any plans to release Siren on Blu-ray in Europe,” said a rep.

The game’s being released in its entirety on disc in Japan, but will only be available online in Europe from the look of it.

Siren’s releasing this “summer”.

You’re *really* not doing yourselves any favours with me of late, Sony.

Must just be a way of trying to force people to use PSN. Maybe they don’t have any faith in it to work well at retail on a disc in Europe.

Those 40GB HDDs really will be pushed for space soon. Warhawk, this, GT5: Prologue, MGS4, GTA. That’s your lot.

The ONLY way a 12 part PSN release could work, at the quality of the game seen in the trailer, would be if each subsequent “chapter” over-wrote the one before it. Perhaps, the Store would then keep track of which licenses you’d acquired for chapters, so that if you wanted to go to a specific bit again, after you’d finished it, you’d be able to.

If it doesn’t work like that, then I’d be disappointed in not having the option to buy the whole thing on disc. (but blindingly obviously, were they to announce such a move now, you’d imagine they’d lose out some, on PSN sales.)

Hmm. I’m sure I read somewhere that it was very short…

I don’t mind the PSN-only release too much, but the space issues are starting to concern me and that’s with my owning a 60GB. I’ve had to delete so many 4GB installs it’s unreal

I’ll laugh my socks off if this is rolled out as part of that Qore gubbins. Guaranteed no sale from me if it happens in a serial downloadable form. Which is a shame because the demo was quite good.

Eh? The demo was terrible unless you could understand Japanese :-D
