Square Enix formalises Euro 360 JRPG details

Tuesday, 10th June 2008 11:44 GMT By Patrick Garratt

Press release after the link. All this information was announced this morning in Tokyo, but all this stuff’s directly related to Europe. One interesting point there is that Star Ocean’s not listed as an Xbox 360 exclusive – whereas Infinite Undicovery is – and no other platforms are mentioned.

Take a look.

Update: The issue of Star Ocean’s platforms has been clarified on IGN. From the site:

Square Enix producer Yoshinori Yamagishi cleared things up during a roundtable interview session that followed the press conference. Asked if the game is 360-only, he said, “We cannot announce anything on that. We can say that it will be released first [on the Xbox 360]. Whether we’ll release it on the PS3 is undecided. We may release it, we may not.”

Thanks, Psychotext!

Odd how they list IU as 360 exclusive, LR as 360 / PS3 but SO as 360. I guess they’re just waiting to announce the PS3 version.

Hmm… I’m sure those couple of lines of commentary weren’t on the article a second ago!

(It’s also entirely possible I saw the wall of text and didn’t read it)

They were! Sorry, I forgot the bit of code to make the press release vanish behind the wall.

With everything that Squenix have announced in the last few months, surely it’s only a matter of time before FFXIII goes multi-format?

Perhaps not FFXIII but I’d be surprised if KH3 ends up exclusive to the PS3. In fact, I reckon it’s likely to be Wii exclusive if anything.

It would seem a better fit for the Wii, demographically. Although it’d be a shame not to see it in teh high-defs.
