According to P3F, the exclusive-to-the-US 80GB MGS4 PS3 bundle sold out on Amazon.com in just seven minutes.
Demand for the bundle was so high, that it actually brought the retailer giant to its knees. Hilarious.
MGS4 will be released worldwide on June 12 and no, for the last time, us lowly Europeans aren’t getting the 80Gb DualShock 3 bundle. In fact we’re not getting a bundle at all. Only in Britain are they allowed to purchase the 40Gb gunmetal Sixaxis bundle from Play.

The power of the PS3 is truly amazing. Didn’t expect that at all.

Yeah… that makes me feel great given I wanted this in the UK. I still have my Play order but I know exactly how that’s going to go down.
Oh, wait. This story is wrong. It was the 80gb model not the gunmetal model.

Wrong how? The 80GB model is the gunmetal edition.
Psychotext said:
Nope, the 40gb is the gunmetal one.
I believe only Konami is selling it too:

[Edit - apparently gamestop will have it as well]

You know what? You’re right you are. Fixed.

What would you do without me?

Less work!

I really, really, really, really hope Sony sit up and take notice of the level of demand for the 80GB model – it’s surely the same the world over, so limiting this to the US is not just grossly unfair, it’s poor business too.

I’d love to know what the reasoning is here.
“Hello, SCEE – we’d like to give you some money in exchange for one of your finest ‘premium’ PS3s”
“Oh, right. No ta.”
Does not compute.
