Apple could kill DS with iPod, says Forbes
There’s a feature on Forbes speculating that iPod and iPhone – and the software-delivering App Store – could bring trouble to Nintendo’s dominace of the handheld market.
“Apple is the first to master a pair of tricks that have made Nintendo’s latest products so compelling – a touch-screen interface and the ability to pick up on motion,” says the piece.
“The key difference: Unlike Nintendo, which has created a gaming console with a motion-sensitive controller and a touch-sensitive handheld gaming system, Apple has crammed both capabilities into its iPhone and iPod Touch.”

I’m not convinced that the “iPhone/iPod-touch” will cut deep into Nintendo’s dominace of the handheld market.
But colour me unimpressed if Sony soon announces a “PSP-touch” !!!
I certainly would buy one!

I think they’re completely different machines aimed at completely different markets. I think they can co-exist in the gaming space just fine.

Different markets, I love my iPhone but Nintendo wont make games for it. I do however see an emulator’s paradise!

Sony should do a PSPhone-LiteTouch. I can’t believe they are being so stupid. I find it less likely that Nintendo would launch a DS Phone.
Lets see what they have up their sleeve for E3
