Nintendo to erase Club Nintendo Stars
Nintendo has sent out an email to Club Nintendo members saying that all the Stars saved up as part of the company’s loyalty scheme will start to expire at the end of June.
“Per the Terms and Conditions of the Nintendo Loyalty Program, some users’ Stars will begin expiring at the end of June,” the mail reads.
“Stars that have been in your account for 24 months will expire at the end of the 24th month. Starting 1 June, you can log in to your Club Nintendo account to see if you have any Stars that are about to expire.”
“If you spend your Stars in June, the ones about to expire will be the first used for purchasing items. Learn more about the expiration at our Terms and Conditions page.”
Nintendo Stars can be exchanged for Wii Points although there are only a certain amount of points available on a daily basis. So if you can’t exchange them before June, you could simply lose them.

People have got thousands of Stars and they’re going to get nothing for them!
(y) Nintendo.

I’d use my thousands of stars but there’s fuck all apart from shitty ring-tones in the Stars catalogue.
I’d convert my stars to Wii points but Nintendo seem to be permanently out of stuck of Wii points cards.
How the fuck Nintendo can be out of stock of a virtual product that has a limitless supply I don’t really know.
All in all, this is a situation contrived to take the loyalty points given to the Nintendo customer away from them.
Fucking ridiculous. Especially the ‘out of stock’ situation.

Yeah, how Wii Points can be out if stock is a mystery.

Bloody hell.. I’ve got just under 4000 points, and I’ve never been able to get any points from that site.. always out of stock. And now I might lose my points?! Grrrr!
And the rest of the merch on there is always sold out (apart from chuff like wallpapers).
What a crock of shite..

They’re not a virtual product as far as I can tell. I think they ship out an actual points card to your house.

eh? No they don’t. (unless I’m missing your sarcasm). Your Club Nintendo account is linked to your Wii and you simply get your account credited.

Wow… nice job Nintendo you mercenary bunch of pricks. First you stop people swapping their stars for points by “running out of stock” on a virtual item. Then you tell them that their stars are going to expire.
Jeez.

I’ve got 6000 points and nothing to buy with them. I can’t even turn them into Wii points because you need to be a registered Wii owner before you can do that. Thanks a bundle, Nintendards.
