Sierra forks out “a lot” of money on European Ghostbusters ambulance – pictures

Sierra showed off Ecto-1 at the MCM Expo in London this weekend, and told videogaming247 that the car is actually a different one to the Ghostbusters-mobile currently being dragged around the US to promote the upcoming game.

According to the Sierra rep, the firm had to buy the European car in Holland. They’re rare, we were told, with only around 400 ever being made. The publisher spent “a lot” of money making it look the part, and is going to be doing more promo stuff with it in the UK later this year.

For the record, it’s a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance. Pictures after the link.

I wonder, did the conversation go something like this:

Sierra Minion: Everybody can relax, I found the car. Needs some suspension work and shocks. Brakes, brake pads, lining, steering box, transmission, rear-end.
Sierra Boss: How much?
Minion: Only $4800.
[Boss looks shocked]
Minion: Also new rings, mufflers, a little wiring.

:D

I swear to God, the car was bent. I tried three times to get it straight, and it wasn’t having it.
