Golden Joysticks 2008 voting open now

Future’s announced voting’s now open for this year’s Golden Joysticks awards.

For those of you unaware, “the Joysticks” is a chance for everyone in the British games industry to sit in a room and try to drink each other to death.

Categories for this year’s “show” are:

Ultimate Game of the Year
The Sun Family Game of the Year
Nuts All Nighter Award
Soundtrack of the Year
Bliss Handheld Game of the Year
Editor’s Choice
The One To Watch Award
4Talent Mobile Game of the Year
Nintendo Game of the Year
Online Game of the Year
PC Game of the Year
PlayStation Game of the Year
Xbox Game of the Year
Publisher of the Year
Retailer of the Year
UK Developer of the Year

Apparently more than 750,000 votes were cast from the UK last year’s awards, so get involved and push for the million, achievement fans.

There are £10,000′s worth of prizes on offer for those that vote, so don’t be shy. It all closes on June 23, so get on with it. No date’s been announced for the awards ceremony as yet.
