GTA IV: PS3 beats 360 in Germany and Spain

The Spanish really, really love Sony.

What a shame there’s no “total” European chart.

Spain and Italy hardly know what “Xbox” is. Seriously. The Italians say they’re playing “PlayStation” when they play on a 360.

Maybe next year

MS has done a fantastic job in raising awareness of the 360 brand in the US and UK, but I think the game’s over in Europe. They need to seriously rethink their strategy for Xbox 3.

If memory serves, there was no 360 game in either the German or Spanish Christmas games charts.

OrphanageExplosion: You’re probably right about Spain… but I don’t think that was the case for Germany.

In Denmark the 360 outsells PS3 all the time, so I gather. I think that’s also true for Scandinavia in general, tbh.

‘think’ / ‘so I gather’ doesn’t = fact.

We’re basically the 51st US state. They should just get a bunch of ships, a few lengths of chain, and drag us over there. I think we’d fit nicely along the Florida coast.

I know from my time working with the German chaps on EG.de that the 360 situation in Germany is absolutely desperate. It’s amazing how badly they fucked up there.

Germany isn’t really a surprise at all given a great deal of the 360 games are also on PC… and PC gaming is HUGE there.

morriss: Scando is put into the same group as the UK by Microsoft’s Euro profiling. It’s UK/Scando in one bit, Germany in another and then France, Spain and Italy in the other, if memory serves.

All this talk really does make me wish we had reliable Euro numbers. Would put me in sales geek heaven. =)
