Consumers prefer GTA IV on 360, says Microsoft
Microsoft’s issued a press release today – following news that GTA IV’s sold 926,000 copies in the UK in the game’s first week on sale, 514,000 on 360 and 413,000 on PS3 – saying that it’s clear punters know what they want. And what they want, apparently, is Niko 360.
“Today it has become clear that consumers are finding Xbox 360 the best way to experience Liberty City and we expect this trend to continue, especially with exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV episodes coming to Xbox 360 in the autumn,” said Chris Lewis, vice president of Microsoft’s EMEA interactive entertainment business.
“Grand Theft Auto has a new home on Xbox 360, and consumers are discovering how our platform can enhance the experience like no other.”

Anyway, surely this only “clearly proves” that there are far more 360s in UK homes than PS3s? Which we already knew.

Well, I actually wanted to buy the ps3 version but when I walked into the shop it was as if I had been hypnotised and when I walked out lo and behold I had the 360 version.
Dirty tricks are being employed I reckon.

I’ve still to see a copy in a shop. Every shop I’ve been in in the last week has just had ‘sold out’ signs and no actual games.
