Rockstar had to stock Amazon with 40% of soundtrack before GTA IV's launch

According to this Reuters piece, 40 percent of the GTA IV soundtrack had to be stocked by Rockstar itself on Amazon before GTA IV launched.

The game's track listing - which is over 200 strong - was obviously too eclectic for the online retailer, which needed the help of the publisher to be able to offer the songs for sale. As Rockstar held the licenses to the music for the game, it had to make the effort to ensure all the music was available for sale on day one.

Well worth a read, that.
