Everyone with GTA IV will play on Live, says Microsoft
Microsoft’s quite confident you’ll want to play GTA IV on Xbox Live. Assuming you didn’t buy it on PS3, obviously.
“The multiplayer in this game is so well implemented that I can’t imagine anyone owning a copy without trying to play it on Xbox Live,” Aaron Greenberg, the director of product management for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, told Reuters.
“GTA is unique because it appeals to such a large audience. It will likely be the best-selling game launched all year and we expect it will drive a lot of new members to Xbox Live.”
Nice one, Aaron. Any chance you can get Rockstar to send some more copies to the south of England so we can get involved?

Well, I am just unimaginable then.
I have GTA4 (360 ver), but only have a Live Silver Account.
Got a free month of gold with GTA 4 but I gave that away.
If I want to play online, I’d get the PS3/PC version,
I don’t play online enough to pay for a subscription.
Sorry Greenberg
GTA4 may be a boon to the number
of Gold accounts, but saying that everyone with GTA4
will get gold is kind of naive.
On another note: GTA4 is awesome, best GTA since 2

I really do have precisely zero interest in playing online. I’m just not enticed by the idea at all.

Mart was saying yesterday that it’s really good fun. I’m definitely going to take a look when I FINALLY GET A FUCKING COPY.

Microsoft’s making silly claims, again.
I own the game on both formats but I always found loading times intrusive on older GTA games so I’ve found myself favouring the PS3 version for the install (and the familiarity of the controller). I may take it online once I’m a bit more climatised to the combat features of the game.
Microsoft’s comment is about as welcome as the SIXAXIS controls of the helicopter in the SIXAXIS demo.
They can both go suck a nut.

I haven’t played the multilayer yet. I’m a ‘campaign mode first’ man. Also, I don’t like talking to people.

I had my first GTA session on Live last night with members of my friends list and I’m still in shock at how fantastic it was, I have no idea how Rockstar have pulled it off.

It is rather impressive with a group of friends. I thoroughly recommend the Cannonball races. 5 check points well spread out and every one starts on foot. The full cross island one is best. Start at the airport and finish on the west side of the map. The mad dash for the car park at the start is great

@patlike. I know it sounds weird, but after two days solid of playing (I’ve got to go to the Lakes today, so no murder-simulation for me), I wish I could go back to the beginning and just be overwhelmed by the sheer size of Liberty City once again.
Just learning all of the little things and the details is a wonderful videogame experience and I’m sure you’ll love it and it’s worth the wait.

Yeah, I’m excited. I’m not banking on finding a copy today though, tbh.
