APB for 2009, says Realtime’s Jones
Speaking to Develop, Realtime Worlds boss Dave Jones has pinned anticipated MMO APB for a 2009 release date.
“We want to launch APB in 2009, which will be pretty much worldwide – including the Asian markets. This is our first big online game,” he said.
Jones added that this is a major launch for the firm, one that could result in serious revenues if all goes well.
“If we have a big success with APB on the scale of, for example, World of Warcraft, then we could be looking at hundreds of millions of pounds. It just depends what happens after we launched it,” Jones said.
Expect to here plenty more on APB soon. Have a look at this for details from the game’s GDC showing.

2009? Oh that’s a shame. I’m excited about this already!

I’m pretty pumped about it, tbh. An MMO that doesn’t take nine hours to play has to be a good thing.

Dave Jones is optimistically stating the very obvious there.
If I made a game that was a succesful as World of Warcraft then I would also expect to be looking at hundreds of millions of pounds.
That’s a pretty big IF Mr. Jones. Even with your reputation for success.

I can’t look at the picture without the theme from The Bill playing in my mind.
Looking forward to APB though, sick and tired of standard MMO mechanics and gameplay these days.
