Yamauchi confirms damage and community update for GT this year
Speaking to CVG, Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that a “major update” is coming for Gran Turismo 5: Prologue later this year, which will add long-promised car damage and extra community features.
Yamauchi said in February that GT5 would create a global community for fans of the game, so this sounds like the start of it all.
He promised that damage was on the way to the series last last week, but didn’t put a time-scale on it apart from “very, very soon”.

Rather than add car damage to GT5, I think they should remove car damage from the real world. Perhaps then stupid bastard courier van drivers wouldn’t reverse into my car and write it off.

The real world update would probably take too long to download. At least it would on my Virginmedia connection anyway!

The only reason I drive Skylines in games is because I want one in real life. But I probably never will because they use about four gallons of petrol a second.

Can he release a patch to stop me having to drive around Daytona 23 times to afford the Ferrari F40 I need to continue playing the single-player?
Probably not.
