You finally played it? I’m so glad you finally liked something that I was pimping! I was beginning to feel like I was just wasting your money.

I’ve got Okami for the PS2 but I haven’t got round to playing yet. When it came out it got compared to Zelda games. How fair is this comparison? I only ask because I gave up on Wind Waker (the only one I played) after becoming immensely frustrated at its antiquated approach to saving. Every time I died it would make me jump all the way back the inside of a goddamn tree or similar.

It’s fairly like Zelda, but it’s not that harsh on the saving, iirc. One of my favourite games of the generation.

Check points are a pet peeve of mine. I gave up on new super mario bros on the level where you have to jump a tower doging rolling balls. It took me ages but I did it (I’m not very good a platformers) and then I promptly died on the ensuing boss battle. I then found out that the game expected me to do that tower bit all over again.

Don’t get me started on New Super Mario Bros. I bloody hate that game.

Gears of war pissed me off in the same manner. You would do a hard bit then there would be a lull and some cretin would jump out of cupboard or something and… then you get the checkpoint.

Guess what developers, no matter how good you think your game is (and epic think gears of wars was fucking awesome, i disagree) I don’t want to replay bits I’ve completed unless I choose to!
