Gamestop takes 49 stores in Norway

The latest move in its game of videogames retail Risk, US firm Gamestop has acquired 49 shops in Norway:

Purchasing 100 percent of the outstanding share capital of local chain Free Record Shop, the stores will now be branded as GameStop outlets as the company increases its store count to 160 locations in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

“We are pleased to have worked with Hans Breukhoven and his entire management team at Free Record Shop to complete this acquisition,” offered R. Richard Fontaine, CEO of GameStop.

Cool. I’m from Norway, and we always welcome more competition in the games market. :D

How does Gamestop compare to other chains anyways? Any good offers?

No idea, if I’m being honest. They’re massive in America, so yeah, I’m sure you’re going to get some cheap stuff :)
