SCEE stays quiet as rumour pins GT5 PSN for Saturday

SCEE’s steadfastly refusing to pick the phone up this morning as anger at the fact GT5: Prologue failed to appear on the European PSN last night continues to build.

This is reporting that European gamers may not be able to do download the racer until Saturday.

We’ll keep phoning. Expect to see SCEE make some kind of statement on this later today.

Update: Just had a mail from SCEE PR. They’re waiting for comment from central office, apparently, so looks as though a statement’s on the way.

“Europe is our top priority!” said someone who no longer works for the company.

This is digital distribution! All the benefits of actual discs with none of the drawbacks or middlemen! Yeah!

I doubt it has. The shop I went to yesterday had like 10 copies of it and I don’t believe they are all gone by now.

Another PSN debacle for Europe. Further proof that Microsoft sent temporal warrior Mark Maslowicz back through time to eliminate key Sony personnel.

Microsoft = Skynet. I just proved it. Again.

Mark’s just arrived back through the Stargate in Microsoft’s basement, armour smoking, a young Phil Harrison’s head on a pike. He’ll be after Yamauchi next. Gran Turismo will be “erased”.

There’s a PC World five minutes walk from my house – which makes it the closest games retailer. They NEVER put games on shelves on the release day.

I’ve learned they have them in stock. They just can’t be arsed putting them out in time it seems.

GT5 is in, not that you’d know it.

Seeing as retail bleated like little girls when Warhawk was released on PSN for cheaper than they were doing it I wouldn’t be suprised if retail haven’t again kicked up a fuss and demanded they have a clear day selling it before it goes on as a downloadable. Poor loves; it’s not like they’re rolling in money from dealing in pre-owned games of which the developer and publisher get fucking nothing!

Just like in-game network messaging has been ‘erased’ from PS3 since launch.

Maz is rewriting videogames history and we’re powerless to stop him.

Sonic will be the Queen next. And he’ll turn rogue and make the NTSC Dreamcast “swirl” blue.

In-game messaging will be here in the summer. I have spoken!

From threespeech: Sony: ‘Unfortunately due to some last minute technical difficulties, we were unable to publish the new content to the PS Store yesterday. We are working to resolve these issues and will let you know as soon as new content is posted.’
