I must admit, from what I've heard on the grapevine regarding KZ2, it's been a huge money-pit for Sony and Guerrilla's own staff are being supplemented by some of SCEE's own developers. This is entirely unsubstantiated rumour that I'm quoting and I have no means of verifying it. I should add that I actually rather enjoyed KZ on the PS2 and thought it had some good ideas and decent production values but was hindered by some sloppy design and hardware limitations. In my mind, there's a chance that KZ2 could be a good game. I hear Guerrilla did a great job on the PSP Killzone.

As for my game, just call it PROJECT AWESOME!!!!111

@Shatner - Fair enough. I can't help thinking Killzone's not as far along as it should be, though, if we're supposed to be playing it this November.

Sorry, what was the name of the game you're working on again? :P

@Blerk - You're probably right but, again, I don't see why someone internally just doesn't say "don't". There's only enough shelf space for a certain number of games. It's the perennial retail issue. All it means is that the market gets split and big games don't achieve potential. I'm still iffy on Killzone making this year, you know. I reckon we would have heard a lot more on it by now if they were serious about it.

I've been working on a game for 23 months now and it's not yet been announced (Sorry Pat - no exclusive scoop for you).

Not showing what you've been doing should not be mistaken for not having done anything.

I'd go as far to say that any (next gen) game that gets announced with images and footage is already 12 months or more in development. It's just how it is.

The thing is, the longer they leave it, the more of a white elephant it becomes. I suspect they'll "do a Microsoft" and ship as many big titles as they can in the run up to Christmas to drive PS3 sales for the holidays. If they can get Killzone into that period, they will. They have to.

I don't see the logic in releasing it this year. Why put two top-line, first-party shooters into the market at the same time? Moving Killzone back to Easter 09 would be more preferable, surely.

And Resistance has the added advantage of people actually liking the first game, too. :-D

Cheaper, faster, and a happy customer base. Why did we want Killzone again?

I did a story a while back about budget going off the chart on Killzone. It's a bit worrying that they're not doing any PR on it. Resistance is a cert, I reckon. You can tell by the amount of interviews they're doing.

They really need to stick the boot into Killzone. There'll have been two Resistances in less time than it took them to do a single Killzone if they're not careful. The longer it goes on, the more stupidly brilliant it has to be to justify the dev time.

Agree. Killzone sounds a bit weird. Resistance and LBP are definitely on the money, I reckon.

Well, we already knew LBP was slated for September. Seems soon for Killzone though, given that we've basically seen nothing at all since that single playable bit last year. Resistance sounds doable.
