PSP and Wii are still tussling at the top of the Japanese hardware chart, but it would seem our Far Eastern brethren just can’t get enough portable Sony. Figures are from Media Create.

  • PSP – 57,651
  • Wii – 55,845
  • Nintendo DS – 53,266
  • PlayStation 3 – 14,934
  • PlayStation 2 – 9,930
  • Xbox 360 – 1,744

I’m going to buy one this weekend, I think. Even though Mrs Pat keeps glaring at me every time I mention it.

The PSP has been quite a success, really. I remember when it was the butt of every joke on gaming forums, but it’s quite a respectable machine now. The freakishly huge DS sales made any PSP sales look rubbish in comparison.
