First Mario Kart review scanned and posted on web
Poor old magazines. There really is no keeping the good bits off the internet, is there? Hit this for the UK Nintendo Official Magazine’s review of Mario Kart Wii, the first in the world. The cartoon racer gets 94 percent. Apparently it’s a “strong contender for the best Mario Kart ever”. Also, on the subject of the Wii Wheel: “Turning is simply a matter of turning the wheel.” Nice. One piece of information in the piece that may interest you is that snaking’s been removed completely. Important stuff.
Go ahead and read it so you don’t have to give Future any money. Mario Kart Wii launches in Europe on April 11 and the US on April 27.

Official Nintendo mag adores Nintendo franchise? NO WAI!
I recall seeing the Italian Official Nintendo mag giving Mario Galaxy a totally believeable 11/10 rating. Obviously, those guys must have been impartial to the fact it was an “offical” Mario game. Or that Mario is supposedly of Italian origin.
I found it!. I win at the internet.

Saw some gameplay footage not to long ago & it looks exactly the same as all the others, is that a bad thing? I think the wiimote will ruin it (excite truck)

You can use the classic controller or a GameCube pad, too.
And the Wii remote didn’t ruin Excite Truck, it MADE the game!
As for the scan, ONM didn’t reveal any spoilers in their review, so there’s no info that wasn’t already known. Which is one way of spoiling the fun of those that scan the mag.
Can Future not take action against the site for reproducing some of the mag?

They probably could, yep. Strictly speaking it’s breach of copyright. If they really wanted to get it taken down I’m sure they could.

They’re probably not that bothered given how often their websites cannibalise their mag content. It’s no wonder print publications are struggling.

The official mags will be there for a while yet, innit, although it wouldn’t surprise me if they got “pamphletised” as they did in the US.

When an official magazine challenges me to ‘believe it or not’ I default to the latter.

Such cynicism. But yes.
