You never know. I may actually buy one soon. Why are the Japanese so hot on it? What’s out for it at the moment over there?

They just keep buying Monster Hunter over and over again, as far as I can tell. And there’s a new colour machine every week so they all have to buy new hardware to maintain their collections. :-)

I saw a Dengeki poll yesterday that said Monster Hunter was the favourite game in the past year. Those wacky Japanese and their alternative tastes.

It’s very strange, this. It can’t just be Monster Hunter that’s behind the rise. Has there been a price cut? For the first time ever, DS looks like it’s struggling. Though that’s no doubt partly because Nintendo has started focussing internal development on Wii stuff, almost exclusively. Congrats to Sony, they’re clearly doing something right in Japan.

The revised model kicked it off, a bundle of new colours sustained it. And… yeah, I’m pretty much struggling after that. They still don’t seem to be buying any games for it (other than Monster Hunter).

Don’t forget the dock and remote control. An extra 300k units right there.

Musou Orochi is selling well actually. But that’s about it. Is there some kind of non-game peripheral for it over there? Like a TV tuner or something, perhaps?
