God of War III pre-orders being taken for March 2009

Says so here. Gamestop and EB Games are taking pre-orders for God of War III, listing the game as March 2009 for $59.99. The game was confirmed through an ad recently. Obviously, this essentially means nothing, although it’s reasonable to expect that the game won’t be hitting until some time in 2009.

Quite why anyone pre-orders stuff as early as this, I have no idea.
