Euro Patapon to cost three times more than US version

patapon2.jpg

According to this, a French site’s priced Patapon, the PSP rhythm-action strategy game, at €40. Apparently, this means the game will cost roughly three times the amount US gamers are being charged. In America, the title costs $20. This, obviously, is rubbish.

It would appear, however, that our French cousins are getting a rather hard bargain there. Amazon UK’s selling it for £20 (€27).

Oh, and it’s slipped a week. It was supposed to be coming out last Friday.

Amazon.de wants 38€ for it…That’s why import my games. Well I will now after having seen that most PS3 games will cost me 10€ less when I import them.

That’s insane. I always thought the UK was more expensive. It must be something to do with the exchange rate for euros. It’s changed a hell of a lot in the past six months or so.

Could be the exchange rate or just the pricing. For example Shadow of the Colossus would cost me roughly 40€, when imported from Amazon UK, including shipping costs. But bought from Amazon.de, I’d pay 60€, that’s 50% more and that really can’t only be down to exchange rates.
