Take-Two sales expected to show big drop for January

Ahead of NPD data to be released later today, Pacific Crest analyst Evan Wilson has said that he expects a 33 percent drop for Take-Two's US sales for the month, due to the fact that the publisher didn't release any new product. GTA IV, releasing on April 29, would make up for any shortfall, said Wilson.

He said he expected the report to show a 45 percent increase for Activision for January, driven again by CoD4 and Guitar Hero III, both of which released last year. EA, he said, would also have seen a strong lift in sales, up 20 percent on the back of Burnout Paradise.

Overall data is expected to be down 5 percent year on year, due to the fact January this year contained four weeks for retailers, as opposed to five weeks last year.
